You and Sodapop get into a fight, and he ends up hurt.

“I can’t believe this! You seriously saw her last night?!” You screamed at your boyfriend; well, now ex-boyfriend. You two were planning on going out to the Dingo last night, until he was “sick”. He wasn’t really sick; he apparently faked it and went to see Sandy, who you thought moved away for horrid reasons.

“I don’t get what the deal is! She wanted to talk to me, it’s not like we kissed or anythin’!” Soda yelled back at you. Was he really being serious right now?

“Are you kiddin’ me, Soda? It’s a big deal because not only did you ditch me and lie to me, but you went and saw your ex-girlfriend who apparently was in Florida with a baby that wasn’t yours! Do I seriously have to remind you of why you two broke up?!” You responded, tears threatening to fall.

Soda just looked at you like you stabbed him and just left him all alone to die. “Don’t you dare bring that up ever again.” He hissed, gritting his teeth.

You scoffed. “Well, I just did since you obviously needed to be reminded! Lyin’ to me obviously wasn’t enough for you. You know what? I think you should just get out. Leave. We’re done.” You sobbed, removing the promise ring that he managed to buy for you on Valentine’s Day. You threw the ring at him, and motioned to the door.

“B-babe, don’t be like tha-” He started, desperate for you to calm down so you  both can work this out.

“I have to! Don’t you understand? If I can’t trust you, then what should we do with this relationship? Get out!” You pushed him towards the door with all of the strength in you, not forgetting to slam the door in his face.

You heard him kick one of the posts on the porch, and try to keep in a sob as he ran to his car and put the key in ignition. You couldn’t help but lean on the wall and slide down, burying your head in your knees. Why did this all have to happen? Why was there so much drama?

Why did it all have to involve you?

All the crying made you tired; you were sitting against the wall for about an hour, mentally cursing yourself for all that happened. You were slowly falling asleep, until the phone rang.

You made your way hastily to the phone, anger still running in your system. “Hello?” You answered gruffly. “Is this Ms. Y/L/N?” A woman’s voice asked. “This is she.” You replied. What happened and why did they ask for you?

“I’m sorry, but I think you should make your way to the hospital immediately. A patient named ‘Sodapop Curtis’ is askin’ for you.” The woman advised. Those words were enough to crumble down and weigh horror on your shoulders.

You didn’t even manage to hang up the phone; you just grabbed your jacket, slid on your shoes, snatched your car keys, and drove off to the local hospital. Nearly missing a few stop signs and other cars, you made it in ten minutes tops. You hopped out of the car and ran inside. “Where’s Sodapop Curtis?!” You yelled to the lady at the front desk.

“Are you Ms. Y/L/N?” She asked you, debating on whether or not she should release that information. “Yes I am, now talk.” You threatened. “Room 109.” The lady responded; you didn’t even acknowledge her, you just ran.

You finally made it to the room, but hesitated once you made it to the door. Your breathing hitched; should you go inside or not? You shook the thought out of your head; you needed to know what happened. You needed to know if you were the reason.

You slowly opened the door to find Soda lying down. He had a cast on his left leg, and some gauze wrapped around his right hand. “Oh, Soda.” You gasped, making your way to his bedside. “Y/N? What’re you doin’ ‘ere?” He asked you, seeming genuinely shocked. You rolled your eyes.

“It’s not every day that you get a call at 11:00 at night sayin’ that the person you love most is in the hospital. What the heck happened? Were you wearing your seatbelt?! I swear, if you weren’t we-” You demanded, until Soda interrupted you.

“I was so angry that I wasn’t payin’ attention to the road.” He said. He seemed to hesitate, but he continued. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I shouldn’t have gone to see Sandy. But you know that I would never do anythin’ with ‘er!” He started, but you shut him up by kissing him.

“Hey, don’t worry about it. I was angry for no reason. I should’ve known that you wouldn’t do anythin’. But I swear to the Lord almighty, if I ever see her again, I will hurt her.” You giggled. He just grinned at you and got something from the nightstand next to the bed. You recognized it as the promise ring you threw at him earlier out of anger. He just got it, brushed it off, and put it on your finger. That surely shut you up, because you knew that now you were both alright.

Preference #1: They get jealous/over-protective.

  • Two-Bit: Whenever he sees a boy look at you too closely, all he needs to do is pull out his trusty switchblade and yell "Get lost!" to scare them away. Then, he would just look at you and give a cheesy grin. Sometimes he didn't need to scare them off, but you thought it was really sweet of him!
  • Johnny: Ever since he got jumped, he's been extremely nervous. You always calmed him down, but whenever he saw a Soc looking at you the wrong way or treating you badly, he held your hand tight and just told you to ignore them. You were his princess, forever and always.
  • Sodapop: You would visit him every week at the DX and you two would just hang out, have fun, and talk all at the same time. You had a great time until Soda went to the bathroom, then a guy came to the station because his car had a flat tire. He was flirting with you, until he saw Soda get out of the bathroom and glare at him. Even though Soda was a nice guy, nobody could talk to his girl like that without any consequences.
  • Dally: You were at one of Buck's parties with Dally and the gang, when you felt a hand touch your butt. You turned around in shock, about to yell at the pervert who did that, but you saw that Dally was already taking care of it; and that meant that the pervert wouldn't get out of this fight without a broken arm.
  • Darry: People instantly saw Darry as an intimidating guy, even though in reality, he was a big ol' teddy bear. That just resulted in guys barely hitting on you, but people wanted to hit his weak spot, and Darry's weak spot would get hit if anybody ever hurt you. You two were just walking home from the Dingo, when you noticed a car following you both. Whenever this happened, Darry would tell you to run home and that he would take care of everything.
  • Steve: He was all muscles, so he would fight and easily win. You and the gang went to go watch him and Soda race one night. You had a great time, until Paul Holden winked at you. You ignored him though, sticking close to the gang. The race ended, and you were making your way towards Steve, until somebody stopped you. You turned to see Paul smirking at you; he was about to say something until Steve punched him out of nowhere and started a fight. You sighed; you were tired of the same fights every other night, but you knew he was only trying to protect you.
  • Ponyboy: You two met on the first day of school, so you were obviously "fresh meat", as they would say. He would walk you to your classes, and make sure that no bullies started any trouble with you. No way would he let anybody try to hurt you or get you in trouble, and you loved him for that.

Ponyboy gets drafted. (Part Two.)

Five years passed, 500 letters were sent and replied to, but it felt like infinity without Ponyboy Curtis by your side. You waited for him every single day to walk through that door and yell “I’m home!”, but it never happened soon enough. You still visited the Curtis brothers and the rest of the gang, but it was never the same without him. Soda went to Vietnam three years instead of five like Pony, and now without Dally and Johnny here, it was never the same. You always asked Darry if there were any updates on Pony, but he always responded with a sigh; that definitely and sadly meant “no”.

But one day, things were totally different. The gang was sitting on the porch, but they didn’t talk to you; they didn’t even say hello.

“Hey, guys.” You breathed out, walking onto the Curtis’ porch to do your daily visit. They said nothing, absorbed into their own little worlds to even acknowledge you. “Hello?” You asked again, wondering if maybe they had the decency to talk to you. But, there was no response.

You were a little upset though, because you didn’t know if you did anything to make them ignore you on purpose. You shook it off though; they would come around soon enough. “Alright, since you all want to be jerks and not talk to me, I’ll just get a piece of chocolate cake and go on my way.” You huffed, making your way into the unlocked home.

The minute you walked in, you noticed a large shadow out of the corner of your eye. You turned around frantically, noticing the boys were still outside and you were the only one indoors. You chuckled silently, and walked over to the kitchen. “Stupid hallucinations, always gettin’ the best o’ me.” You huffed. The boys walked in together soon enough, and sat down on the couches, staring at you. You walked over to them and gave them a piece of your mind.

“Guys, why’re you starin’. I’m kind of mad at you all for ignorin’ me; this ain’t helpin’!” You snapped at them with your hands on your hips. You glared until a voice sounded from behind you.

“I could see why they’re starin’. You’ve become even more beautiful since the last time I saw you.” The voice said. You dropped everything, gasped, and turned around fast enough to give you whiplash. Even though the voice was way deeper than you remembered, you could still identify that voice anywhere.

“Ponyboy!” You yelled, then crashing your lips onto his. Five years without him with you; five years since you’ve been this close to him. He’s gotten taller, and his hair darker. It still had the signature grease, and his eyes seemed tired. The boys cheered and whooped in the meanwhile of you and Ponyboy reuniting. You both pulled away and just held each other in your arms, your tears cascading down your cheeks like diamonds; even Ponyboy was crying, and he usually didn’t cry that much.

“I love you Pony. I’m so glad you’re back.” You smiled as you looked into your eyes.

“I’m goin’ to stay, Y/N. I’m done there. I ain’t goin’ back. I ain’t leavin’.” He smiled back at you, sneaking one more kiss onto your lips. You finally felt at peace again, he was back in your arms for good.

Ponyboy gets drafted. (Part One.)

                “Why are you leavin’?! You always leave!” You screamed at the boy in front of you. “Give me a good reason why.” You whispered after a few moments. “I got drafted, Y/N. I’m goin’ to Vietnam in a week.” The boy whispered back to you.

~~~
You woke up with a jolt. You’ve been having the same dream for at least three days straight now. You couldn’t tell who the boy was in the dream, and that scared you most. Was it your best friend, Johnny Cade? Or even worse; was it your boyfriend of eight months, Ponyboy Curtis? You were breathing hard as your brain went crazy trying to figure out who it was.
“Y/N, you okay? Had a bad dream or somethin’?” You heard Ponyboy mumble; you felt bad instantly, you woke him up again. “It’s nothin’, babe. Go back to sleep.” You assured him with a weak smile.
He gave you a face that basically screamed “You ain’t foolin’ me this time!”, and you just shrugged your shoulders at him. What could you tell him? You’ve been having dreams of a mystery boy that you seemed to love dearly? He wouldn’t be too happy to hear that.
“You’re not goin’ back to sleep ‘til you tell me. So get to it.” He said, propping himself on his elbow to face you. You breathed deeply; here it went.
“Pony, would you ever leave me? Like, not in the sense of breakin’ up with me, but, leaving?” You asked him. He bit his lip and broke eye contact with you; you were shocked, because you knew that he did that when he was nervous. Other than stuttering.  Which he did. A lot.
“I’d ne-never leave you, Y/N.” He stuttered. “Well, why’re you stutterin’?!” You squeaked at him. “I don’t know what you’re talkin’ ‘bout.” He said, not stuttering but letting his voice go up a few octaves; something he also did when nervous.
“Then stop makin’ it so darn obvious that you are!” You raised your voice at him and stood up from the bed; you were getting mad at him and he knew it. “You’re always accusin’ me of somethin’; it ain’t my fault I have to leave!” He yelled; but his eyes widened as soon as he realized what he said.
“W-what?! What do you mean by ‘have to leave’?! Why are you leavin’? You always leave!” You screamed at Pony. A few moments of silence and stares passed, so you spoke again. “Give me a good reason why.” You whispered.
“I got drafted, Y/N. I’m goin’ to Vietnam in a week.” Ponyboy whispered back to you.
