Preference #10: First date.

  • Johnny: He took you to the lot. He brought you there so you can just talk and get to know each other better than you did before. The only thing that was noticeably different was that he put a picnic blanket on the lot, a few candles, and a bouquet of your favorite flowers just for you in the middle. To this day, you still don't know how he knew your favorite flower, but you didn't care. It was really cute and sweet, just like Johnny. You both had a really nice time.
  • Dally: He brought you to a beautiful lake that was hidden in who-knows-where. The sunlight reflected off of the water beautifully, and the trees gave off a perfect amount of shade. You both shared stories, had some snacks, and swam for a bit. It was a win-win situation; he already got to see you in a swimsuit on the first date, and you got to see the softer side of Dallas Winston.
  • Sodapop: He took you to this new pizza place that was, in his own words, "absolutely, positively, definitely fantastic". Of course, you loved pizza and you had a major crush on Sodapop, so there was no way that you could turn him down. You two had so much fun, and Sodapop's constant happiness and understanding demeanor led you to go out with him again.
  • Steve: Your first date was at the DX; but, the DX was set up like never before. Apparently, Steve had the gang help him fix up the place for your date. Your favorite thing that was different at the DX was how Steve put a dinner table in the center of the room, and used the car seats from old cars as chairs. You were blown away this idea since it was just so creative; you realized that he was a really great guy despite what all of your friends said.
  • Ponyboy: He took you to the library, then you went to see a movie with him. At the library, you both talked about your favorite books. You were a reader just like Ponyboy, so there wasn't any reason to feel awkward or anything because of his idea of a first date. After a few hours at the library, you both decided to sneak into the movie theater. He treated you to a soda and popcorn, and you instantly wanted to go on another date with him.
  • Darry: He took you to this small ice cream shop. It was what some people would call a "hole-in-the-wall", but you couldn't deny that the ice cream was delicious. Darry explained to you that when his parents were alive, they would take him and his brothers to get some ice cream. When Darry told you that, you knew that he was a family man and that he had a lot on his plate. From then on, you both confessed all sorts of things to each other; no judgement existed, only love.
  • Two-Bit: You both just hung out at his house, there wasn't much to do since there was a really bad thunderstorm going on. You two just watched some episodes of Mickey Mouse, and shared one whole chocolate cake that Two-Bit made Sodapop prepare. It was delicious, and it was a really relaxed date that you had no problem doing again.

Preference #9: You go to the carnival (Part 2).

  • A/N: I really hope you all like this one, because it took a really long time, and I honestly think that I could have done better, but I was in a rush to update! If you like it, please let me know! xo - Sophie
  • Sodapop: "Why'd we have to come here? You know I have to study!" You scolded your older sister as she dragged you to the entrance. "Y/N, you need to have some fun!" She smiled at you as you took in the view; lights, laughter, and cute boys. You and your sister went straight to one of the concession stands. You got a Coke, and your sister bought ice cream. "Oh my, Y/N! I think Sodapop Curtis is starin' at you!" Your sister whispered to you, almost dropping the cone. You nearly choked on your drink; your sister had to be lying! "You're kidding me." You hissed. Not only was he the cutest boy ever, but he was your crush. "Turn around and you'll see that I'm not!" She giggled. You turned only to find Sodapop staring at you, a smile growing on his face as your eyes met. You blushed, and turned back to your sister. "What do I do? Do I go talk to him o-" "Don't worry 'bout it." Your sister interrupted you, winking then running off. "Where are you goi-" "Hey, Y/N!" You heard a voice call. You turned to see Soda, jogging towards you. "Oh, hey Soda! What's up?" You asked him. "Nothin' much. Hey, I was wonderin', do you want to go out this Saturday? I'm off of work so I was just hopin' th-" "Well, why don't we go out now?" You asked. "Really?" "Yes! Ferris wheel?" You giggled, motioning to the ride. "Let's go!" He smiled, holding your hand. Let's just say that you proudly failed your test the next day.
  • Darry: It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and finally, Darry was off from work! You both haven't been able to go out together recently because of your extremely packed schedules. "This is goin' to be so much fun!" You squealed, jumping up and down in your seat as Darry drove you both to the carnival. "Well, I just know that you're goin' to beat me in the strength test." He joked. You jokingly glared at him. "Oh, why yes I am!" You giggled, poking his shoulder. Darry found a parking space, and you both raced to the entrance to buy tickets. You got your ticket, and ran to the strength test. It was the simple thing that everybody knew about; it was that tall structure with the bell at the top, the bell that you were supposed to hit with the hammer. "Alright, move over, Darry. You may be called 'Superman', but let Wonder Woman show you how it's done." You giggled and winked at him, while Darry laughed. You got a grip on the hammer, and hit it down, causing the little thing that hits the bell to only go halfway up. You frowned, and handed the hammer over to Darry. "This is fixed." You mumbled as Darry's turn caused him to hit the bell, but with his strength, the bell almost flew off of the top. "Show-off." You pouted. "Only for you." He smiled, kissing your cheek.
  • Two-Bit: "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" You heard as somebody jumped up and down on your bed, nearly causing you to fall. You unwillingly opened your eyes to see your boyfriend looking at you with a goofy grin. "We're goin' on a date. You'll definitely need to be dressed for this one." Two-Bit winked at you, not letting you protest as he ran out of your room. You blushed at his remark, and got out of bed to get yourself ready. After a few quick minutes, you joined Two-Bit and he led you to where you two would have your date. "Ta-da!" He motioned to the carnival, and your smile couldn't have gotten any bigger. He knew you were so happy, so he grabbed your hand and you both ran in. "Hey, Y/N, let's go on that one!" Two-Bit pointed in the distance, and you followed his hand to see that he was pointing at the tall ride which brought you all the way to the top, then dropped you at immense speed. You loved speed, so that kind of cancelled out your fear of heights. "Fine, let's do it." You said, convincing yourself that you would be okay and that you'd get off this ride alive. It turned out to be that Two-Bit was the one who needed the convincing, not you.
  • Ponyboy: "Alright, so we got all of the rides out of the way. What else do we do? Do you want to walk around o- babe, you there?" Ponyboy trailed off, waving his hand in front of your face. You ignored him though, because you were staring at the biggest ride at the carnival; the Ferris Wheel. "We didn't go on that one, Pony!" You gasped, turning to your boyfriend. "Oh my, you're right! Let's go on before this place closes." Ponyboy smiled at you, gently holding your hand as you speed-walked over to the wheel. "Two, please!" You told the guy who ran the ride, and you both took a seat. "I really do hope we make it up top, the view must be so pretty." You sighed as you snuggled into Ponyboy's side, his arm around you. Night was coming close, and the Sun seemed to be creeping away. You instantly thought of that poem that meant so much to your boyfriend. The ride came to a stop, and you noticed that you reached the top of the wheel. "Ponyboy, look at this view." You gasped. "Wow, this is the first time I've ever seen a sunset like this." Ponyboy breathed out. It amazed you how Ponyboy could get amazed so easily. Whether it be a sunset, or you, you knew he had a great love for so many things, and that's what made you fall in love with him right then and there.

Dally cheats on you, and Sodapop comforts you.

You had to get out of there, so you ran. You just ran as fast as you could from Buck’s place. You just caught your boyfriend of four months, as if you could even call him your boyfriend now, cheating on you with that girl named Sylvia. Exactly, your boyfriend is, or was, Dallas Winston. You hated him so much right now, so you ran to the place where the one person who could help you was living; Sodapop Patrick Curtis.

Preference #8: The cute things he would do.

  • Darry: He would randomly kiss your nose. If you were stressed, tired, happy, or upset, he would do it. It would calm you down, and it gave him another reason to get close to you and show you how much he loves you.
  • Two-Bit: When school would end each day, you would make your way to your locker, only to find Two-Bit waiting for you. He would ask you about your recent classes, and ask you if you wanted him to pick you up the next morning.
  • Johnny: He would notice anything different about you. If you got a haircut, if you bought a new outfit just for him, even if you were wearing make-up. He was the kind of kind that didn't say much of anything, but he saw everything.
  • Steve: You two would drive around town, talking about random things, when yours and his favorite song would blast on the radio. But of course, what was a good song if you didn't horribly yell out the lyrics? That's what you loved about Steve; he would act like a fool with you.
  • Sodapop: You two would pinky promise. You would make him pinky promise that he needed to come home safely from a rumble, and he would make you pinky promise that you had to visit him sometime every week at the DX so he could "see your beautiful face". You loved each other too much to break those promises.
  • Dally: He would whisper all the things he loved about you in your ear. Whether it be your style, your attitude, or just you, he made sure that you knew it all. It was a reminder that he thought you were perfect, and you realized that he was perfect for you.
  • Ponyboy: He would gladly read some of the books you recommend to him. Then, when he would finish the book in a matter of a week, he would come as fast as he could to your house to tell you what he thought of it. He was also really eager to read another book of yours.

Preference #7: How he dances with you.

Darry: He has one hand around your waist, and the other holding your hand. He stares at you with so much love, and that makes you feel like you’re the only girl in the world. “I love you so much.” He said, smiling down at you.image

Steve: It was after a big fight; you were so mad at him, that you didn’t even acknowledge him for the rest of the day. He would try to get your attention, but it didn’t work for a while. He finally had enough and picked you up off of the couch, and started to dance with you.image

Sodapop: He could always make you laugh, no matter what. You two were hanging at the beach, when he took your hand and started to dance. “Soda, stop! People are starin’ now.” You giggled, lightly nudging his shoulder. “Oh, so you want them to stare, huh?” He grinned at you. “Soda, that’s not what I s- Oh my God!” You screamed, as he carried you into the ocean, making you, him, and the others watching you laugh.image

Dally: He spotted you through the crowd at one of Buck’s wild parties, not being able to stop staring. You were chatting with your friends and enjoying the night, when a Soc asked you to dance. You were about to say yes, when all of a sudden, the Soc was pushed out of the way by Dally. “Sorry, buddy. Maybe next time.” He snickered as he spun you around and dipped you, receiving glares from the Soc.image

Johnny: It was your sixteenth birthday; filled with smiles and love, but it wasn’t complete without your boyfriend, Johnny. You reached the lot, to see him there. “Hey, Johnny.” You smiled at him. “Hi, Y/N. Happy birthday, by the way.” He said, hugging you. You both didn’t let go of the hug, and Johnny started swaying you back and forth. “What’re you doin’?” You blushed. “Dancin’ with the most beautiful girl in Tulsa, what else?” He said, before giving you a short kiss.

Ponyboy: You and Ponyboy had an project to start, so you both planned to go to his place. You’ve always had a crush on him; the only thing was that you didn’t know he liked you too. “Hey, Y/N!” He opened the front door and hugged you. “Hey, Pony! You ready to start?” You asked, smiling. “Yeah, come on in.” He said, and led you inside. You both started working instantly, but you got tired really soon. “You tired?” He asked. “Yeah.” You yawned. “C'mon, you need to be awake!” He smiled, picking you up. You were spun, and you were dancing before you knew it. In that moment, you fell in love with Ponyboy Curtis.image

Two-Bit: “Have I ever told you how much I love you?” He mumbled, nuzzling his head into your neck. “Maybe, but you sure have shown that you do.” You smiled at him. “How have I shown it?” He asked you, grinning ear to ear. “You kiss me, you hug me, you make me laugh, you tease me, you smile at me, you take care of me and you’ve never hurt me. That’s how.” You whispered. Two-Bit pretended to count with his fingers as you listed it all. “Well, looks like I forgot somethin’.” He smiled. “Wha- Keith!” You laughed as he picked you up and danced with you. “Now you know for sure that I love you.” He said, gazing at you.image

Preference #6: You're in labor.

  • Johnny: You two were just sitting next to each other and watching a movie on the sofa, when your water suddenly broke. The baby was supposed to be due in two weeks! You started breathing really fast. "Uh, Johnnycake?" "Yeah, princess." He smiled at you. "My water broke." And right after you said those three words, he picked you up and nearly ran right out of the house, placing you into the car and speeding off.
  • Two-Bit: You two were just cuddling in bed, on the verge of falling asleep, when you felt something life-changing happen; and that something was definitely not supposed to happen. "Gosh, Y/N, do you really have that bad of a bladder?" Two-Bit joked with you, nudging your side and letting out a tired laugh. "No, Two. My water just broke!" You screeched out in pain; the contractions were really getting to you. "Oh my God!" He yelled, instantly awake and running out of the door. "Keith! Did you forget something, or most importantly someone?!" You yelled at him. He returned to your room, took you by the hand, and almost dragged you to the car.
  • Dallas: "To think that you're pregnant with our baby, wow." He chuckled, moving a few strands of hair from your face to he can take a good look at you. In public, he never really was this caring; either way, you loved this side of him. "I'm the luckiest girl ev- Ow!" You groaned, holding your side. You didn't recognize this pain, and that scared you. "Dally, I think my w-" "Oh, not again, doll. It happened the past two weeks, and it's been a false alar-" "Well, maybe the saying 'third time's the charm' is real!" You hissed at him. You grabbed him by his collar and brought your face to his. "Get me to a hospital now or you won't get some for a whole six months." You growled. That was enough to send him running, with you in his arms, of course. Lucky for him, you two lived two blocks away from a hospital.
  • Darry: You've been off work for a while now, since you were due any minute. Darry knew you so well, that he knew all the types of cravings you could possibly have. You knew that he would be a great dad, and he would be so helpful. "Honey, I'm home!" You heard him yell from the front door, throwing his jacket onto the nearest couch. "Hey babe, how was work?" You asked, kissing his cheek. "Same old, same old." He sighed, about to sit down. "Well, that's n- Darry!" You squealed, trying to hold on to something. Darry was instantly at your side. "It's time?!" He panicked. You merely nodded, and you both left the house. Sadly for Darry, he never got a chance to sit on the couch for once.
  • Sodapop: You and Soda were at the drive-in, watching the latest cheesy movie. You knew that Soda worked a lot lately, so you decided to hang out. "Gosh, Y/N, it's like you're gettin' bigger by the second." He grinned. "I know, it's also excitin'. And nerve-wrackin'." You sighed. You felt a sharp pain, and felt water trickle down your legs. Thank God you were in the back row. "We need to go." You said sternly. "Wait, like, 'go'?!" Soda blanched. "Yes." You tried to stay calm. "Oh my God. I'm goin' to be a dad." He whispered. Then, he stood up and yelled out to the crowd. "You hear that everyone?! I'm goin' to be a dad!" He yelled, smiling like a mad man. Cheers and claps of encouragement erupted around you. "Soda, now!" You squeaked. You and Soda then speed-walked to the car, and you both sped off to the hospital.
  • Steve: "Hey, Steve!" You smiled, getting out of the car after driving into the DX. "Hey, sweetie." He said, getting mad since the car he was fixing still wasn't working. "I'll be with you in a minute, hun. Hold on." He assured you. You rolled your eyes. He always did this; you were eight months along and he didn't pay attention to you. After waiting for Steve and doing nothing, you felt something different happen. It was shocking; a little too different. "Steve, my water broke." You gasped. He seemed a little shaken up by that, but he just rolled his eyes. "Hun, if that's just a way to get me to pay attention to you, then that's a low blow." He grumbled. "I'm serious; really serious." You paled. He raised his head so fast, he almost hit his head against the car's hood. "Wait're you waitin' for?! Get in the car!" He yelled, getting into the driver's seat and you in the passenger's seat.
  • Ponyboy: You were there in the kitchen, paying taxes. All of the prices you were reading stressed you out a lot. Ponyboy shook his head, and placed his hands on your shoulders. "You shouldn't be puttin' this stress on you, doll." He soothed. "But we have to!" You sighed. "Hey, let's go watch some cartoons, you'd like that, right?" He grinned, leading you out of the kitchen and into the living room. "Actually, I would." You meekly smiled. You almost sat down, until you felt water trickle down your leg. "Oh, no." You whispered. "What?!" Pony asked, looking stressed already. "Baby's comin'." You gasped. Ponyboy looked like he was about to faint, but he kept his composure and led you out of the house. "It'll be okay, it'll be okay, it'll be okay." He assured you, but it sounded like he was only trying to assure himself.

Preference #5: You both find a stray dog (Part 2).

  • Sodapop: "Hey, beautiful! Look what I found!" You heard Soda yell from the front door. You didn't bother looking up from the newspaper, so you just said hi. "Babe. You really need to see this. Oh, too late!" He laughed as you felt something jump onto your legs. You looked up from the paper to see a Maltese looking up at you. "Can we keep her?!" Soda grinned. "Isn't the answer to that question a bit obvious?! Yes, we can keep her! What's her name?" You giggled as the dog licked your face. "We should name her 'Pepsi'!" He squealed. You just rolled your eyes at your childish boyfriend and continued playing with Pepsi, yours and Soda's new dog.
  • Johnny: It was Johnny's birthday, and you sadly knew that his folks wouldn't bother to celebrate. You made your way home to get ready to visit Johnny, until you heard a bark and the familiar sound of large paws on pavement. You turned and looked to see a Saint Bernard with its tail wagging and tongue out. "Awh, who left you all alone?" You cooed. You saw a dog tag with the name only, not the address. "You want to meet somebody special?!" You giggled, and the dog barked happily in response. You both made your way home, you got ready and came back to get the dog from the living room. You both left the house and ran to the lot. Johnny was there, not looking too happy. "Hey dol- Oh, Jesus." He breathed, seeing the dog that was three-fourths his size. "Happy birthday Johnnycake!" You squealed.
  • Ponyboy: "C'mon Pony, let's go to the park!" You whined. He was still reading, and you were just sitting there bored out of your mind. "Let me finish this page!" He said. "You said that sixty pages ago!" You groaned, falling off of the bed. He just chuckled at you. "Fine, if you want to go to the park, then we'll go to the park." He said, putting the book down. "Yay! Let's go!" You yelled, grabbing his hand. You ran and ran until you reached the park. You saw an abandoned football, and you both just started throwing it around. But, you threw the football a little too far, so Ponyboy had to go run and get it. You knew that this was going to take a while, so you sat down on the grass. You looked around, taking in the scenery of the lake next to the park and the sunlight peeking through the trees. "Hey, Y/N, look what I found!" You heard Pony laugh, and you turned to see him with a Chihuahua in his arms. The dog was shaking, and you pouted. "Awh, she looks so scare- wait, it is a 'she', right?" He asked. "How should I know? Let's name it 'Tiny'!" You smiled. You walked home with a new dog, and Pony never got to finishing that book.
  • Darry: "Hey, sweetie." Darry grumbled. You could tell that he had a long day at work, just by the expression of pure exhaustion on his face. "Hey, how was work?" You asked, kissing his cheek. "Tiring, like always." He said. "I just wish I had more time to see you. I feel really alone when you're late at work." You pouted. He just hugged you. "I wish I could do something about it." He whispered, planting a kiss on your head. He just sat there, until his face went from exhausted to excited. "I'll be right back, hold on!" He ran out of the house, not waiting for an answer from you. You sat there for a good half an hour, when you finally had enough. "What has gone on in this boy's mind?" You whispered. You gathered your things, and opened the front door, only to be greeted by a huge dog knocking you onto the floor. You regained your sight to see a huge Great Dane on top of you, and seeing Darry with a big smile. "I saw him at the pound a while ago, and he was still there! Now you won't be alone anymore." He smiled at you. You giggled as the dog barked and licked your face, slobber now all over you. Only Darry would do this, and you loved him for it.
